For the first time we have had all our people in mission from AsiaCMS and CMS UK together for fellowship, sharing and teaching. Immediately after the official launch of AsiaCMS we all travelled together to the Methodist centre Port Dickson, on the West coast of Malaysia, about 1.5hr drive from KL. In total we had 125 people including almost 30 children.
We benefited from some great teaching and workshops led by CMS staff, board members, mission partners and guest speakers. We were blessed to stay close to the beach and the centre has a swimming pool so mission partners and families could take some well-deserved rest!
Some feedback from the participants:
“Great. It is just so difficult to get good mission teaching either in Pakistan where I live, or in the UK when on home leave. I feel both challenged and equipped by what I have heard” Freda, Pakistan
“I now have a better understanding of what it is to be part of the CMS family. It has been wonderful to meet so many different people involved in mission in Asia” Lendehl, Philippines
“To see so many countries in Asia represented at the gathering was really exciting. Hopefully some more partnerships for ministry will now develop as we try to support each other and work together” Andrew, Malaysia
