21 Jan A Testimony of Transformation: The Impact of After School Tuition on Local Families
Located in South-Asia, Nisha and Sooraj* are co-mission partners involved in church planting, running an institute to train Christian leaders, and coordinating a program that provides after school tuition to children in their region.
Through the tuition program, Nisha and Sooraj met one of the mothers, named Geeta*, who sends her three daughters for the free lessons. On getting to know her better, Nisha and Sooraj discovered that Geeta is currently married to a man who struggles with drug and alcohol abuse, meaning that his family (Geeta and her girls) are often not cared for.
Together with their church and community, Nisha and Sooraj began visiting Geeta, mostly to offer prayer and support during her tough times. After a few months, Geeta started attending Sunday worship services and even accepted Christ. This led her to being baptised and publicly confessing her faith. Geeta hopes that others can find the peace she testifies to.
Pray for:
- Financial support for new church planting projects, pastors’ training courses, community developments and the free tuition classes.
- For a committed couple to undertake the pastoral care ministry at a local church; this is also where outreach to neglected locals is being carried out.
- The pastors and lay leaders that are currently undergoing training.
- For God’s grace & wisdom to lead Nisha and Sooraj’s family and ministries.
