13 Sep Blessed by seminars on family life
Raj Kumar and Sita were among 70 couples and 30 singles my wife and I had the opportunity to serve through a family seminar held in May this year. Along with another couple, we had the privilege to facilitate some topics like role of husband and wife, communication in marriage, expectations in marriage, foundation of marriage and Bible studies on family life.
At the end of the seminar, Raj Kumar shared how he was blessed by learning in seminar and how practically he was touched by our family life. Raj Kumar stayed with us for two years in Asha Kendra hostel when we were supervisors there 12 years ago.
He says, “More than teachings of uncle and aunty (my wife and I), I have been blessed by seeing their family life. I am touched by the way they have nurtured their children. I wouldn’t have been here standing before you if uncle and aunty didn’t help me to be what I am today.”
Raj Kumar is now the principal of a high school in a town in central Nepal. He is one of the leaders of a local church which has more than 500 members. He has obtained a master’s degree in education and is very influential in society.
He comes from a very poor and difficult family but has a deep desire to help other families who are struggling. He and Sita have a two-year-old son.
It was he who took the initiative to have this family seminar in his church and told us that he wanted to see a healthy family relationship in every single family. – Manoj Kumar Pradhananga, AsiaCMS co-mission partner, Kumaripati, Lalitpur
