20 Mar Education Prepares the Soil for the Word
James teaches English and other subjects, with activities such as music, dancing, storytelling, and drama, to develop the lives of the young people in local communities in Southeast Asia. These activities also effectively plant the seed of the gospel, leading to true transformation that parents have witnessed in their children. Additional fun outreach programs for the whole family, such as cooking, baking, and creating handicrafts, have also motivated parents to send their kids to classes to participate in fruitful activities. Some parents are even planning to start a cooking business. James and his team have been greatly encouraged by the joy and enthusiasm of the parents; it keeps them moving forward.
More recently, they have witnessed God’s move in several areas. The first was an answered prayer for the renovation of one of the buildings used for their projects. Built on stilts over the sea, its foundation and flooring were eroding, causing children to accidentally fall into the water. However, the “rejuvenated” building now breathes new life to the community – with a safe space to worship and gather for school activities.
Next, God paved the way for them to serve a different community in a village. The terrain and landscape make it difficult for the village children to go to school. The muddy roads also become dangerous each time it rains. Moved with compassion, James desired to find a land to build a multi-purpose building and school. Upon sharing this with the village head, he learnt that there was already a plot donated to the village that could be used. Led by the Spirit, they signed a cooperation agreement to build a multi-purpose building and school. The team continues to pray for a miraculous provision of USD 25,000 for the fruition of the project.
Pray for the needed funds of USD 25,000 to build the multi-purpose building and school.
Pray for the mission training which will be held for those desiring to serve God.
Pray for James and his team as they continue to develop and utilise their Early Childhood Education activities as a platform to share the gospel with the parents.
