From Nepal’s deadliest earthquake in history, Manoj Pradhananga and Anjila Shrestha have found the empowerment and joy of walking in obedience to God. Despite their lack of experience in disaster relief work, the couple have successfully coordinated the relief and rehabilitation work in three districts between May and August.

As a result, they have helped 10,000 people with food items, provided counselling to 100 people and built shelter for 100 families. This included planning, fund raising, reporting, mobilising staff, organising meetings and monitoring construction projects.

“We achieved this without much knowledge and experience, in the face of various challenges such as lack of materials, manpower, legal procedure and unfavourable weather,” said Manoj.

The 7.8 Richter earthquake on April 25 killed almost 10,000 people, injured another 10,000 and made more than 500,000 people homeless.

Manoj and Anjila even found time to stand in as facilitators for a one-month women leadership training in August as the training coordinator had to take a one-month medical leave. Do pray for Manoj and his wife to continue to touch lives through their core ministry of training.
