09 Oct Faith Against the Odds: Spreading the Gospel in a Dangerous Landscape
One of our Co-Mission Partners from South-Asia, Ishmael* resides in a region unfortunately not very safe for individuals to practice differing faiths from the majority’s. It is regularly a challenge to share the gospel and can even pose a threat for the security of those involved (and their families).
Despite challenges such as financial and safety issues preventing church meetings in some towns, Ishmael has continued his ministry across various cities. Recently, he has witnessed new believers speaking in tongues, choosing water baptism, and committing their lives to Jesus.
He shares a testimony of a family of five brothers living in a joint household with their respective spouses and children, that had not been on talking terms with each other for over a year. However, upon being touched by the Holy Spirit, they felt convicted to forgive one another and since then, have been peacefully residing under one roof together.
Ishmael will soon be undertaking a pastoral internship while growing his ministry in a new region. He hopes that while he is away, his team will continue working towards their plans to extend their fellowship amongst their local community and the towns/cities they have recently visited.
Pray for:
- protection over this partner and his family as they will be travelling together for the next ten months.
- his team as they continue their evangelical activities, in his absence. they are hoping to plant new churches in newly reached and also unreached areas within their region.
- wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit.* name changed to protect privacy
