From Heartache to Healing: Sarah’s Journey to Forgiveness

Sarah*, a co-mission partner based in South-East Asia, currently serves at a local shelter for at-risk mothers and their children.

Unexpectedly, after journeying with a girl named Farah over the past two years, Sarah shares that her name was tarnished on social media around mid-2024 by Farah.

“Waves of hurt, sadness, and anger surged within me, and I found myself crying out to God in despair, questioning, “Jesus, how can people change so quickly?”

Amidst the chaos, Sarah felt a strong need to stand up for herself and share her side. However, rather than acting impulsively, she chose to cope silently with the pain of being betrayed by someone she trusted.

During this time, a mission team from the USA arrived, bringing nearly twenty days of support through their testimonies and prayers. While trying to mask her emotions, one elder noticed Sarah’s struggles, and took the time to offer a listening ear.

“Because of that elder who reached out to me, I found the confidence to express my feelings during a meeting with my colleagues and from that point on, it just made me more thankful for God’s presence that carried me through those challenging days,”

Pray for:

  • God’s strength and help for Sarah to forgive Farah
  • Sarah’s grandmother; that God will touch her heart so she will be willing to read the Bible with Sarah
  • That God will raise up more people to recognize and respond to the needs of those in the diaspora community
