17 Mar Sewing Seeds of Hope: Mali’s Story of Pursuing Her Dream
Rajan*, a co-mission partner in South-Asia, serves as a Child Protection Officer, Church Relations Coordinator and Training Coordinator at a community development organization focused on helping vulnerable people.
Recently, one of Rajan’s friends, who is also a pastor, told him touching story of an individual named Mali, who had a simple wish – that was to learn how to sew.
With God’s provision, Mali was able to achieve just that by becoming a student at a sewing school founded by the organization Rajan is a part of:
“Sewing has always been a dream of mine, but I lacked the resources and finesse to pursue it. Enrolling in a professional sewing course like the one we are currently attending would cost at least Rs. 60,000—a sum that is far beyond my reach.
Living in a rural area, life often presents significant challenges, and opportunities for personal and professional growth can be scarce. I never imagined I could access training of such high quality, especially without financial constraints posing a barrier. However, thanks to God’s provision, I was given the wonderful opportunity to join a sewing school.
This course has provided me with invaluable skills, particularly in creating sari jackets, children’s wear, and women’s apparel. These skills are already making a meaningful difference in my life.
This experience has not only fulfilled a long-standing desire of mine but has also instilled in me the confidence and knowledge needed to pursue a career as a dressmaker. It has brought me closer to achieving my dream, and for that, I am immensely grateful to God!”
Pray for:
- For the good health of all Rajan’s training department staff members
- To develop a new awareness-raising booklet for parents about Child Protection.
