Storms of Opposition: A Call for Prayer and Support for Mission Work

Storms of Opposition: A Call for Prayer and Support for Mission Work

Deborah*, a co-mission partner serving in the South-Asia region, shares that she’s been wrestling with issues pertaining to a project agreement that has been pending for a long while. Her team have had a challenging time navigating through the never-ending waves of legal proceedings and changing of court hearing dates.

On the day when she was to present an update on the matter above in response to the Feedback Response Management (FRM), Deborah awoke with a picture of Jesus and his disciples in her mind:

“They were going across the sea and were caught in the storm, but that’s when Jesus steps in to calm the stormy weather and get them safely to the shore, like he did in Mark 4:35-39. I realised it was exactly what my team and I were experiencing, as we were about to enter the storm, but it was as if He was reminding me that His presence will be there to calm the situation down,”

Deborah explains – this entire problem can be considered as a storm. She has received comments about this project that are constantly full of grievances. She and her team need to deal with it strategically and sensitively. Otherwise, they would fall victim to the bad practices and ill motives of those in positions of power.

Deborah is doing her best to remain obedient. She trusts that her faith will give her the courage and wisdom needed to deal with the ongoing situation.

Pray For:

  • Funding opportunities and innovative ideas to help Deborah and team continue to expand their works (to continue being effective and efficient)
  • Wisdom as they address some complex issues that will impact the staff and structure of the team (as they are also looking to hire some expatriates for a variety of roles)
  • Government approval for the project that Deborah and her team are waiting for. It has not been moving forward because some government staff want her to include partners without going through the proper processes.
  • Those who are affected by heavy monsoon (floods and landslides) in her nation; may they receive proper resources to help rebuild their lives while experiencing God’s presence and comfort.
