24 Jan Season of meaningful sharing
We serve and share as the Lord leads. We thank the Lord for guiding Kumar in his preaching preparation and giving him the privilege of sharing the Christmas message entitled “Unwrap: The Gift of God” in our local church, Makati Gospel Church, on Dec 25.
The retelling of the Christmas story as told in the Gospels proves crucial at a time when festivities centre on Santa Claus, gift-giving and family gatherings. Praise God for how He reminds us through His Word of the real reason behind the season — the Saviour Christ born to take away our sins and grant us new and everlasting life! He is definitely the best gift any person can ever share and receive.
We are privileged to be able to mentor and minister to Nepalis in Metro Manila. We continually mentor Nepali students at the International Graduate School of Leadership (IGSL). We have weekly Nepali fellowship to encourage one another, and several activities to reach out to Nepali medical students in Manila. Most of them come from a devout Hindu religious background. But by God’s grace, we have been able to share the Gospel and disciple many of them.
At IGSL Nepali fellowship, we also provide exposure to people who are interested to learn about Nepal or potential missionaries to Nepal. We have had several of them come to our fellowship for orientation and exposure. The most recent is a Brazilian couple with a child who are planning to go to Nepal as long-term missionaries. We were able to orient them about Nepali language, culture and other details to help them prepare for their missionary journey in Nepal.
Kumar was fulfilling his leadership role as a department chairperson for Leadership and Intercultural Studies Department. Now, he has switched to a new leadership role as the Team Leader of Life Mentoring Team.
Please pray that the Lord will help each member of the team to work together in unity, and that IGSL will improve all the more in training leaders to reach different sectors of society for Jesus!
