25 Jul Slum Ministry – Nepal
Ram Prasad is an AsiaCMS mission partner and Executive Director of NMCN which started it’s slum ministry back in 2009. Initially they set up a shelter as a safe place for the young children to play as they were often left alone. This has grown to providing some meals for the children, community water tanks for access to clean water and kindergarten programmes.
Ram, in Kathmandu, writes;
“By God’s grace we have started our third Slum project, based in Godavari. Most of the parents leave the house during the day time to earn bread and children are left home unattained. We have decided to start a centre to look after these precious children by providing education and foods. At the moment we have 15 children aged from 3-10, some of them go to the school. At this moment, we run classes only after 4 pm till 6pm, however, we will soon start gathering children to look after them by providing education and food . Please join us in your prayer.”
Please pray for Ram and the work of NMCN as they continue this important ministry with the poor in Nepal.
