Beyond Theology

Beyond Theology

Dr. Qaiser teaches at the Open Theological Seminary (OTS) in Lahore, Pakistan. He is currently the Director of OTS, provides leadership to the institution along with teaching and preaching roles, and represents OTS on different platforms nationally and internationally.

He shares a short testimony from two of his students this past quarter that shows us the incredible ways that God works in the lives of seminary students. They attend OTS to study theology but God goes beyond theology to teach and restore them.

Z is a female student, who completed her B.Th. recently from OTS. She remarked, “I gained confidence through the OTS courses, and I realized I could now face critical and hard questions, and problems, without being upset, for the glory of God.” She added, “I want to serve my Lord in this hard context with a great passion and motivation to save many lives from the depths of sin and alienation.”

Another female OTS student from central Punjab has shared: “My complexion is dark; many of my schoolmates made fun of me and didn’t want to become my friend. I was emotionally very disturbed; I hated myself and wanted to kill myself.

But, when I read the course, ” Me and My God”, I read that God created human beings according to His image and I realized that I am also created in the image of God. I feel proud that I am the child of God.”

She now has begun the process of healing her mind and has begun to love herself, knowing and accepting herself as a child of God.
